After days in captivity, kidnappers who camouflaged as gunmen, that stormed the home of the Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Idris Mohammed, on the night of August 8th, have finally released the victim.
Mallam Mohammed was released on the night of Thursday, August 12, after some days in captivity. Newsmen were not told if any amount was paid as ransom before the release.
SarahReports.com had earlier reported that, following the abduction of Commissioner Mohammed, the Minna State Government House had gone into strategic meeting which was headed by the State’s Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Ketso, and other securities heads of the state to discuss the incidence.
It is however no longer news that, kidnapping for ransom has become a ‘thriving business’ under the President Buhari’s led APC government.
