Abductors and Killers of Late Pa. Dafwan Dariye, Arrested by the NPF Team

Suspected criminal minded individuals behind the abduction of Dafwan Dariye, father to the former Governor of Plateau State, Joshua Dariye, who is at present, serving jail terms bothering on corruption, have been arrested.


The notorious and high profile kidnappers, were said to have been nabbed by the security operatives, following an intelligence report.

Abductors of the aged Mr. Dafwan Dariye, did not only abduct him, but also murdered him after collecting a N10million ransom from the family.


In a statement issued by the Nigeria Police Force, (NPF), signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, the arrested suspects revealed how they kidnapped and murdered Pa. Dariye, a 93 year old nonagenarian.


Jethro Ngusen, a 57 years old man, and a native of Horop community in Plateau State, the same village where late Pa, Dariye lived before he was kidnapped and eventually murdered, was the mastermind of the abduction who also led the 7-man-team to the Pa. Dariye’s home.


The gang members include: Ya’u Saidu aka Ya’u Kaban, a 40 years old male, from Kaban Village, in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State; Titus Ezekiel, 34 years old man from from Horop, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State. Dauda Isah, 30 years old male, also from Horop community of the State.


Others are: Sunday Ibrahim, a 35 year old male of Mushere tribe, in Horop, Mangut Shumwar,  30 years old, from Horop, Henry Amos, 35 years old male also a native of Horop, and Mr. Jethro Ngusen, a 57 years old, indigene of Horop, Plateau State and the crime convener.


The Statement reads,

“Investigations revealed that it was Jethro Ngusen, the mastermind and convener of the gang that instructed one of the gang members, Mangut Shumwar to kill Pa Dariye, because he feared that Pa Dariye might recognize the suspects since majority of them are from the same village with the deceased. Jethro was also identified as the one who took custody of the ransom and later shared the proceeds of the crime amongst the gang members.”


Recall that, the late Elder Dafwan Dariye, was abducted on June 17, 2020. He was killed few days after the sum of ₦10 million was paid as ransom to spare the nonagenarian.
