Anthony Joshua Lost Title to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk

Mixed reactions have trailed the defeat of Anthony Joshua, a British professional boxer, born to Nigerian parents, to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night.

 

Anthony Joshua, 32, a world heavyweight champion, lost his IBF, WBA, WBO titles to the 34 years old Ukrainian, during a fierce competition between the two heavy weights, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in London.

 

Joshua is a two-time former unified world heavyweight champion, having held the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles from December 2019 to September 2021, after previously holding it between 2016 and June 2019.

 

Nigerians are however, optimistic that Anthony Joshua is capable of winning back the title in the nearest future.
