APC Commences Sales of Gubernatorial Forms For Ekiti, Osun States

 The All Progressives Congress, (APC), has in a statement released on Tuesday, announced the sale of forms for the Ekiti state and Osun State governorship elections scheduled for next year June and July respectively.

 

The Party’s National Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, said, the decision is reached following the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC’s) schedule of June 18, 2022, for the Ekiti State governorship election, and July 16, 2022, for the Osun State gubernatorial polls.

 

Akpanudoedehe reiterated that, it is based on INEC’s guidelines, and the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2010, (as amended), that the timetable, and the schedule of activities for the Ekiti state, and Osun state governorship elections, was approved by the Party’s leaders.

 

He therefore announced that, sale of forms will begin on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, and Thursday, November 18, 2021, respectively, at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja.

 

According to Secretary Akpanudoedehe, “The Party fixed the sale of the forms at N22.5 million. While the nomination form costs N20 million; and the expression of interest form costs N2.5 million.”

 

He however said, “Female aspirants, and physically challenged aspirants, are to pay 50% of the prescribed fees.”

 

Senator John Akpanudoedehe then listed the schedule, for the Ekiti state guber polls as follows:

Last day for submission of completed forms, and accompanying documents, to the APC national secretariat, is Tuesday, January 11, 2022; while screening of aspirants will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Publication of claims, and objections, will be on Monday January 17, 2022.

 

Screening of interested aspirants is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2022; followed by the primary election on Saturday, January 22, 2022; and the election appeal on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

 

For the Osun state polls, Secretary Akpanudoedehe said, the notice of election to the state’s APC chapter, will be on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, while the sales of forms for interested aspirants will start on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the APC Secretariat, Abuja.

 

Akpanudoedehe stated that, the last day for submission of completed forms, and other accompanying documents, is schedule for Friday, February 18, 2022; while the screening of the aspirants will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, with publication of claims and objections, on Friday, February 25, 2022.

 

He said, screening appeal for aspirants holds on Monday, February 28, 2022, while the primary election is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2022; and the election appeal on Thursday, March 20, 2022.
