The All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured all stakeholders of adequate security during its annual national convention slated for March 26 in Abuja.
According to governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state, who doubles as the chairman of the convention, the committee responsible for the convention preparations, has visited the proposed Eagle Square, Abuja venue, to see to the decorations, and erecting of structures ahead of the March 26 national convention.
Although there has been a lot of hiccups among the party members, Lalong guaranteed all delegates, officials, and other faithfuls, of adequate security measures for a hitch free convention.
Recall that, on Friday, March 18, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, “issued an order, vacating the restraining injunction against the March 26 convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC)”
Justice Bello Kawu, the presiding judge, held that, a member of a political party cannot sue his own party; adding that, the November 18, 2021order, has been overtaken by a recent Supreme Court judgement on a similar matter.
The court however, fixed March 30, 2022, for the substantive suit.
