Former Lagos State governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is back to the country after about three months in London, United Kingdom.
Tinubu, returned to Nigeria Friday night, being 8th of October, 2021.
In a Statement titled, ‘Asiwaju is back’, issued by Tinubu’s media office, shortly after his Friday return, it was revealed that, the former Lagos governor, underwent knee surgery, followed by physiotherapy during his three (3) month stay in the United Kingdom; adding that, the APC Chieftain had no other surgical procedure other than the knee surgery as widely rumoured.
The Statement reads in part,
“His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, returned to the country, landing in Lagos, Friday evening, October 8. He arrived from London, United Kingdom.
“During his trip abroad, he underwent surgery on his right knee as well as rigorous post-surgery physiotherapy on the said knee.
“Contrary to unfounded rumour, he underwent no other surgical procedures and contemplates none in the future.
“His recuperation has been without complication and ahead of the schedule by the attending surgeon.
“He has returned fully healed from the knee surgery and fully committed to doing his modest part of advancing the cause of progressive democratic good governance throughout our beloved nation.
Asiwaju Tinubu thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, and other political leaders, who took time out of their busy schedule to visit him in London.
“Asiwaju, first and foremost, would like to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for taking the time to visit him in London, to express his wishes for a speedy recovery from the knee operation.
“He is also not forgetting others, who would have loved to visit him but couldn’t make it and his numerous friends, associates, supporters and well-wishers who have been with him in prayers and supplications to Allah.”
Tinubu returned to Nigeria, few hours after the flag off of SWAGA ‘23 in Lagos.
SWAGA is a political movement, launched in the southwest, to champion Asiwaju Tinubu’s candidacy for the 2023 presidential seat.
APC national leader, Tinubu, is however, yet to declare his interest for the presidential position in 2023 elections year.
