The National Executive Council (NEC) of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has agreed to extend its warning strikes to 8 (eight) weeks, starting Monday, March 14, 2022.
In a press release dated Sunday 13th March, 2022, signed by the Union’s President, Emmanuel Osodeke, it was unanimously agreed that, until the federal government honours the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), agreed upon in the year 2020, which revolves around revitalizing Nigerian public universities whether federal or state, and other consensus reached in favour of the Union, the academic body is unwilling to down its tools.
ASUU therefore, again, appealed to the FG to satisfactorily keep its own side of the bargain that will bring an end to the incessant universities strikes across the country.
