‘Bamise Was A Virgin Before Her Death, We Want Justice For Her … Family Members

Words cannot aptly describe the pain and agony on the faces of the family members of late Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22 year old fashion designer lady, who was gruesomely murdered in a government owned BRT bus as they recounted the virtues of the young woman.

According to Mr. Pelumi Abegunde, the elder brother of the deceased, “‘Bamise was his confidant, and a virgin, who was dedicated to doing her fashion business.”

Abegunde narrated how ‘Bamise made a beautiful dress for his unborn baby while still in the womb. He said, the baby was christened yesterday, but sadly without Bamise’s presence.

He added that, ‘Bamise had already christened the baby before her death, and that that was the name she was given during the naming ceremony yesterday.

Pelumi Abegunde, and one Caroline Oni, representatives of the family, said, justice must be swiftly served ‘Bamise  or else they will turn to God, who is the ultimate Judge for help.

Caroline Oni said, although she was not the biological mother of ‘Bamise, but she is been called ‘Mama ‘Bamise’ by all, even by ‘Bamise’s aged biological mother.

Oni said, ‘Bamise was a hardworking young woman, jovial, and loved by all.

The family spokesperson Abegunde, also narrated how the driver of the BRT bus, Mr. Nice Andrew Omininikoron, confessed that he took carnal knowledge of ‘Bamise before she died.

Abegunde, who broke down at a point during the chat with Arise News, said, ‘Bamise’s 70 years old mother fainted when the news was broken to her.

He explained further that, ever since the news broke, Bamise’s elderly mother, and some family members, are being hospitalized because they couldn’t just come to terms with the reality of the sad news.

Abegunde lamented how the government has not been supportive in handling the matter, and the role of the media for not adequately giving the news report the needed attention, especially in the area where the bus driver Mr. Nice Andrew Omininikoron, confessed to having a carnal knowledge of the 22 years old lady before she passed out.

Oluwabamise Ayanwole’s family members are therefore calling on well meaning Nigerians and every other Nigerian, to help them fight for justice over ‘Bamise’s death.

Meanwhile, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), on Tuesday March 8, 2022, being the International Women’s Day (IWD), did not only condemned the senseless murder of the 22 years old fashion designer lady, but he also called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, and the federal government of Nigeria, to intervene in the case before it is “completely compromised” because the BRT service providers in Lagos state have said, the bus is not a part of their registered buses.

Recall that, Miss. Oluwabamise Ayanwole was callously murdered in a BRT bus on her way to visit her sister over the weekend.

She reportedly succeeded in making a voice note across to her friend, describing the situation she was in, and the BRT bus plate number she was in before her death.

With this brief information, the Lagos state police command was able to trace the driver of the BRT bus, who was already reportedly at large before he was nabbed.

Meanwhile, Bamise’s family had also reported the matter at the police station during the periods she was missing; before her lifeless body was found on Carter bridge in Lagos state.

Although some sources said some parts of her body were missing; other reports said, parts of her body were still very much intact when her corpse was found.

However, the ongoing request of late Miss. Oluwabamise Ayanwole’s family members, as well as many other Nigerians is that, justice be given to the late damsel and the perpetrators brought to book as soon as possible even before the case is “completely compromised.”
