The Emir of  Kajuru Local Government Area, in Kaduna state, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, who was whisked away from his palace last weekend, alongside other 12 members of his family, by bandits, has finally regained freedom.

Sources close to the palace said the Emir was released around the forest leading to Kajuru castle on Monday. The report has also been confirmed by the Nigerian Union of Journalists former chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Inuwa  Kajuru who is also a resident of the community.

It was not however certain, if any amount was paid as ransom to the bandits who had earlier demanded a N200 million ransom before the Emir can be released.

While other members of the Emir’s family are still in captivity, the Emir is said to be well but still in need of medical care.

The Emir has since addressed residents of the Kajuru community on his return to the palace as confirmed from sources.
