Bandits’ Serial Informant, Buba Baromi, Killed By Niger State Police Force

Niger State Police anti-banditry team, has successfully gunned down a notorious and serial bandits’ informant, named Buba Baromi; along with three others, during a gun battle in Dogon Fadama in Kontagora Local Government Area of the State.

 

Buba Baromi was said to have been killed, at his hideouts, in the Damba Forest of Niger State, on Tuesday. Local hunters were said to be the lead to Baromi’s den where he was eventually decimated by security operatives, even while he was still recuperating from a gunshot wound sustained in previous encounters with the men in uniform.

 

An intelligence report gathered said,

“It was in one of the encounters with Policemen that he sustained a bullet wound and escape to Damba Forest, where he was being treated.

 

“However, the police on Tuesday, stormed the Forest and engaged the bandits protecting him, and gunned him down.

 

The information also confirmed that, Shehu Buba Baromi, was not only bandits’ informant, but also their lead to kidnapping of victims. He was said to have been responsible for most attacks unleashed on the Dogon Fadama community, middle of last month, before he finally met his waterloo.

 

“Shehu Buba Baromi was notorious in providing information to bandits, as well as leading them to targets of attacks, abductions and cattle rustling.

 

“In the middle of August 2021, he led bandits to rustle cattle and launch attacks on villages at Dogon Fadama, where innocent lives were also lost.

 

The intelligence report also established that, Baromi’s remains have been deposited at the mortuary.

 

“His corpse has been deposited in the hospital, so that his victims and those who knew his notoriety would be satisfied with his death.”
