Breaking: 53 Years Old Danish Peter Nielsen, Who Killed His Nigerian Wife and Daughter in Lagos, Sentenced to Death


Peter Nielsen, 53, a Danish, who killed his Nigerian wife – Zainab, and three-and-a-half-year-old daughter – Petra, at their Number 4, Flat 17, Bella Vista Tower, Banana Island, Ikoyi-Lagos, four (4) years ago, has been sentenced to death by hanging by the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Justice Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile, the presiding judge over the case, found Mr. Nielsen guilty on counts one and two of murder charges, in the case preferred against him by the Lagos state government.

 

Justice Okikiolu-Ighile said, “I hereby pronounce that you, Peter Nielsen, shall be hanged by the neck until death. May God have mercy on you.”

 

Nielsen, was first arraigned in court on June 13, 2018, on a two-count charge of murder, which is contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, (2015).

 

According to Lagos Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kazeem Adeniji, Nielsen murdered both his wife and daughter at their Ikoyi residence at about 3:45am on the said day.

 

Among those who championed ‘Justice4Zainab’ campaign, was Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, leader of Women Arise for Change Initiative in Nigeria.
