Ahead of the 2023 presidential elections, Ebunoluwa Martins, an APC chieftain, and the spokesman of the presidential support committee, has opined that, the presidential seat should be given to someone from south-east.
Martins said, someone with ‘business sense’ like Aliko Dangote, and Senator Rochas Okorocha, would be ideal for the presidential seat, come 2023 because of their pedigree in business and in philanthropic gestures.
He believes that, if any of the two proposed candidates is elected as the president of the country, Nigeria will be better off.
The national coordinator for the PMB/Osinbajo support group, Martins, did not also mince words, when he advised Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to discard his presidential his ambition for 2023 presidential seat, and urged him to allow an easterner to take the seat.
Martins said,
‘If I were Tinubu I will not run for the election, I will leave it to an easterner.’ Adding that, his vote will go to the south east.
When asked about the performance of the President Buhari led APC government, Ebuoluwa Martins, who tried escaping the question, however said, the advent of Covid 19, has not only poured ‘sand in the garri’ of the Nigerian government; but that it is the same for countries all over the world.
The spokesperson of the presidential support committee, Martins, on Arise TV News, on Friday, October 8, did not again, withdrew his statement, but affirmed that, despite his respect for APC leadership, including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a south- easterner should be allowed to lead the country in 2023.
Recall that, southwest leaders of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), under the SWAGA ‘23 agenda, endorsed Asiwaju Tinubu, has the party’s preferred candidate, for the 2023 presidential position.
