Breaking: Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale Emerges As UI Vice Chancellor

After a long drawn battle that lasted for close to two (2) years, a new Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, has eventually emerged as the winner of the VC seat for the foremost University of Ibadan.

 

Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, became the 13th substantive VC today, being Thursday, October 14, 2021 amidst palpable jubilation on the Ibadan campus. His letter of appointment, as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, for the next 5 years, starting from December, 2021, has just been handed over to him by the Chairman of the Council.

 

Prof. Adebowale, before his position has the VC, was the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration. He almost became the institution VC last year before the process was truncated by petitions, not against his person, but against the process; but despite all the arsenals against him, he survived the turbulence to be the crowned Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University.

 

The late hour event, did not stop the widespread jubilation inside the UI campus, after the pronouncement of Prof. Adebowale as the winner of the VC race.

 

Kayode Oyebode Adebowale is a Professor of Chemistry; a fellow of the Nigerian Academic of Science, an alumnus of the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, among many other achievements.

 

Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale will be addressing the University community any moment from now.
