Three (3) distinguished professors, have emerged as winners, under various categories in the just concluded virtual elections carried out in the University of Ibadan for the position of Deputy Vice Chancellors, (DVCs).
The elections, which was carried out in line with the institution’s guidelines and act, heralded the following professors, who defeated their opponents, as the new DVCs.
They are:
Prof. Ezekiel Olusola Ayoola, a professor of Mathematics, won the seat of DVC Administration, with 453 votes, defeating his opponent, who had 73 votes.
Prof. Mrs. Aderonke Baiyeroju, who is a professor of Ophthalmology, emerged as the new DVC, Research Academic, with 320 votes, against 200 votes.
Prof. Mrs. Oluyemisi Bamgbose, SAN, who had 448 against his opponent with 112 votes, is now the newly elected DVC, Research, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships.
Consequent upon the outcome of the elections, it was gathered by SarahReports that, for the first time in the history of the premiere University, two female DVCs, were welcomed into the chancellery team, balancing the equation as, two (2) female, and two (2) male, without any gender bias.
Thanks to the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, FAS, mni, who upon his emergence as the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, nominated two (2) persons, for each of the three (3) deputy vice chancellery seat of the foremost Institution.
The online election was confirmed to be completely hitch free, fair and very transparent.
