Chief Bode George Against Chief Bisi Akande For Praising Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu In His Book, ‘My Participations’

Chief George has, questioned Chief Akande’s encomium of Tinubu who he (George) considered a liar and a certificate ‘forger.’

According to the former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Deputy National Chairman, Southwest, Akande’s praise of Tinubu is political.

In Chief George’s words,

“The only man Akande praised in his Book, is  Bola Tinubu. You think that is not political?”

Chief George continued,

“Akande is from Ila in Osun state, and Tinubu from Iragbigi, also in Osun state; and not from Lagos state has he claimed.”

The PDP Chieftain said, if Chief Bisi Akande is not politically motivated, why did he bring the Book titled: “My Participations”, launch to Lagos state and why not launch the Book (Autobiography) in Osun state where he was once a leader or in Ibadan, Oyo state, where he has also served.

“Why did Akande come to Lagos to launch his Book? Why not in Osogbo or in Ibadan, Oyo state? Why Lagos? Is it not because he (Akande) wants to reposition his friend Bola?.”

Chief George is also of the opinion that, Chief Akande’s opinion in the Book should have been left as ‘a beer parlor talk’ and not as a book to be published, because, according to George, “everybody has little sin or the other.”

Chief George also said, rather than Chief Akande making the assertions especially against Pa. Ayo Adebanjo, the Yoruba leaders should “focus on building a country we should be proud of.”

He emphasized that, “governance is not about debasing people in the public” because doing this has “negative effects on younger generation coming.”

Chief George said, Chief Akande should have reconsidered writing anything negative about any Yoruba personality before publication especially as 2022 is the year of politics.

“2022 is the year of politics. Why open a pandora box demonizing people now.”

Chief George also frowned at Akande for disrobing 93 years old Pa. Ayo Adebanjo who is 10 years older than Chief Bisi Akande. According to Chief George, “it is a negativity on our (Yoruba) culture.

The PDP leader Bode George, is however, quick to add that, he has nothing personal against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite all he had said about him; which he called facts.

Chief George stressed that, Nigerians cannot trust Tinubu, not only because he lied about his state of origin and educational qualifications, but also because of his wanton display of greed over the commonwealth of Lagosians.

While stating this, Chief George added that, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu acts as if he is the emperor over all and so he should not be allowed to stir the affairs of the country.

Chief Bode George also canvassed for direct primaries as the way out of Nigeria’s political quagmire saying, it is more transparent when compared to other systems adopted in the past.

Chief George made his opinion known in the course of discussion with the Arise news media on Monday.
