Police officer, Sergeant Samuel Phillips, who was allegedly responsible for the murder of Miss. Monsurat Ojuade, an offence punishable under Section 223, criminal laws of Lagos State, has been remanded in custody, after being earlier dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF. in a routine orderly room trial.
A Yaba Chief Magistrate, in Lagos, gave orders that, dismissed Sgt. Phillips be remanded for a 30-day period, pending advice from Directorate of Public prosecution (DPP).
Miss. Monsurat Ojuade, 18, a young school leaver and an admission seeker, was reportedly gunned down in the Ijeshatedo area of Surulere, of the State, on September 11, 2021, by the now dismissed Police sergeant, Samuel Phillips.
Further hearing of the case, has been adjourned to October 25, this year.
