All unvaccinated employees of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, (FCTA), were barred on Monday morning from gaining access to the office premises.
Information gathered confirmed that, authorities of FCTA, had earlier sent in-house memo, advising staff of the Administration to go get their Covid 19 vaccinates to avoid any embarrassment.
Making good its promise, the management of FCTA starting from today, Monday January 17th, stopped all unvaccinated staff, and visitors, from entry into the office buildings.
Standing outside the gate of the FCTA premises, pleading all day, were staff, and some visitors of the Administration.
Head of the enforcement team, Ikharo Attah, who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement to the FCT Minister, vowed the enforcement will be sustained until maximum compliance is achieved.
Going by this development, it is not clear, if exemption letters will be given to unwilling staff, who for one reason or the other May remain resolute in their decision not to get vaccinated, or if that will mean the end of their job with the FCTA.
