A student of the Claratian Institute of Philosophy, Claratian University of Nigeria, Nekede, Owerri, in Imo state, reportedly slumped and died while performing the Easter Passion Play.
The seminarian, Suel Ambrose, 25-years old first year student of Philosophy from Benue State, was said to be playing the role of Saint Peter when he suddenly slumped and started bleeding.
According to reports, first aid was immediately administered on Ambrose but he could not be revived. He was then rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Owerri, where he eventually died.
The unfortunate incident led to the suspension of all activities relating to Easter celebration on the university’s campus.
Confirming the incident, the priest in charge of students formation in the university, Chukwuemeka Iheme, said he has not been authorized to speak on the sad incident adding that he will only speak further when he has been authorised to do so.
An eyewitness, who lives in the area, who simply identified himself as Charles confirmed to pressmen that, a student of the school died in a similar manner while taking part in a juggling exercise.
