Just In: Gov. Sanwo-Olu Bans ‘Okada’ Activities in some Parts of Lagos State, Says It is ‘Indefinite and Total’

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has on Wednesday, May 18, announced the ban of commercial motorcycles, popularly called ‘Okada’, in some parts of the state.


The ban which the Governor said is “indefinite and total”, will going forward, take effect in six (6) Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state; namely: “Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa.”

Sanwo-Olu gave the order, while speaking with Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders in the state, at the Alausa-Ikeja, Lagos House.


He urged the Police officers, and other security agencies across the state, to ensure the enforcement of the ban.
