As family, friends and mourners gathered over the weekend in Niger state to bury Deborah Yakubu, the 200 level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State, who was gruesomely murdered for alleged blasphemy, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Yakubu has called their 22 years old daughter’s death as ‘an act of God.’

According to sources, it took extra efforts from Deborah’s family members, before the authorities of Shehu Shagari College of Education, released the remains of their late daughter to them.

Mrs. Yakubu, who said younger siblings of Deborah have to go to less expensive schools just for her 22 years old daughter to go to college, said, she is even now afraid to release her other children to seek education for fear of also being killed.
