I Am Not Dead. “Samanja” Cries Out

Veteran actor, comedian and a native of Kwara state, Usman Baba Pategi, popularly known as “Samanja” in the popular Nigerian television series in the 1980s has cried out that he is not dead but sick and in need of financial assistance. Born on 20th May, 1942, the retired soldier of the Nigerian Army, since his appeal for assistance, have attracted the favour of prominent Nigerians who have willingly given him cash donations.

Report have it that the incumbent Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Maj. Gen. Farouk Yahaya has graciously  donated the sum of N2million (Two million naira only) to the ailing retired soldier while the Governor of Kwara state, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq has given him N500,000.

Samanja, whose wife has earlier died, said he does not hope to die soon but wishes himself many more good years in health.
