Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has denied flagging off his presidential campaign after the All Progressives Congress, APC, February 26th national convention as reported by some national dailies.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, tweeted late Monday evening that, the information credited to VP Osinbajo is highly speculative and therefore, untrue.
Spokesman Laolu stated,
“I’ve seen “news” that VP’ll announce presidential bid after APC’s convention. Anyone reading the story‘ll know it’s all false and speculative snippets.”
He affirmed that,
“Any information on activities and actions of the VP will come directly from his office and not sponsored speculations in the press.”
Earlier on Monday, January 7, some dailies had reported that, Professor Yemi Osinbajo’s intention, is to announce his interest in the 2023 presidential race, shortly after the APC convention; and that VP Osinbajo, have secured the endorsement of the head of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, concerning this, being a leader himself in the church.
