The Living Faith Church Worldwide, a.k.a Winners Chapel, at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road, in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been invaded by some unknown gunmen who abducted 3 members of the church.
SarahReports learnt that, the kidnappers invaded the church during last weekend rehearsals, shooting sporadically into the air before whisking the victims away.
The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, who confirmed the incident, through his special adviser on media and publicity, Habeeb Jamiu, have visited the scene of the occurrence along side with the Osara Division Police Officer (DPO).
The Chairman added that, the LG council has been working in synergy with security agents, to see how the victims will be rescued from their abductors.
Joseph Omuya Salami also said,
“Even before now, we had a series of meetings with the people of Osara Community and entire farm center.
He however, announced that, it was ‘disobedience to constituted authorities’ that led to the church’s invasion and the abduction of the victims. He said,
“And I told them to restrict every night activities for now, and whoever that want to hold any activity in the night, should get appropriate quarters informed; and also, get their approval, to ensure that adequate security is provided, but out of their disobedience, they chose otherwise. “
He therefore, advised residents of the Osara community, to be security conscious and think about their own safety at all times.
He opined,
“We all know the security challenges of this country, and the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is doing everything humanly possible to keep Kogi State safe, protect lives and property.
So, all hands must be on deck to strengthen the peace in our various communities.”
The Kogi State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, is yet to make any comment on the incident and all efforts to reach him on phone has proved otherwise.
