The chairman/coordinator of Ambode Campaign Organization (AMCO), Mr. Olawale Oluwo, has openly declared that AMCO is set to challenge the excesses of the Lagos state All Progressives Congress (APC) and that of the state’s Governors’ Advisory Council (GAC).
Oluwo, who spoke during a chat with a media house in Lagos state, said, AMCO challenging Lagos APC is just another process of democracy and not a way to revenge the ‘injustice’ done to the former Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode by not allowing him a second term in office.
Chairman Oluwo, who in this instance doubled as the spokesperson for AMCO, stressed that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu only leveraged on the projects yet to be commissioned by the ex governor Ambode but that with the institution of AMCO, the group is ready to take back Lagos state from the hands of the cabals tagged GAC.
He said, “We’re getting ready for election. It can be good, but it can also be rancorous; to defend ourselves, we will get the law to back us up. The strength of our NGO (AMCO) will be tested at the primaries.”
Oluwo who believes that the Lagos state GAC is like any NGO, also said the former governor Ambode will not be contesting during the 2023 elections be at local government level, state level, or at the national level.
Olawale Oluwo expressed optimism that with the new APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu, AMCO members can operate under a free and fair environment.
