Haiti former President, Jovenel Moise, killed in his Port-au-Prince home on July 7, has been laid to rest in his hometown. Mourners gathered, despite the unrests, to witness the funeral proceedings.
The President’s widow, who was also attacked and wounded during the home invasion and flown to Florida, United States for treatment, was present at the burial ceremony with their three children.
Men in uniform, were said to have carried Jovenel Moise’s coffin wrapped with Haitian flag, while a Roman Catholic Priest, pronounced the final blessings on the casket.
Moise, 53, until his death, was the President of the Caribbean nation, since 2017. His tenure was considered as a troubling one, bedeviled with widespread agitations and unrests.
Present at the Friday 23rd funeral rites, were Haitian elites, other sympathizers and witnesses in and outside the shores of Haiti.
