The former Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, and past Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs, Kingsley Kuku, has been arrested in Amsterdam, Netherlands, over child pornography offence.
Kuku was reportedly arrested on Wednesday at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, in The Netherlands on his way to London, United Kingdom.
According to information gathered by SarahReports.com, a top government source, privy to the incident, told newsmen that, Kuku was allegedly accused of circulating child pornography materials in 2018.
Kingsley Kuku, who was said to be travelling from Accra, Ghana, and had a layover at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, was arrested by the Dutch officials over child pornography offense; an offence committed few years back. He is said to have been trying to fight extradition from the country since his arrest four days ago.
The Nigerian born Kingsley Kuku, from Ondo state, was a top government official in President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration as a Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs and the Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
As the Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for ex-agitators in the oil-bearing communities in the Niger Delta, Mr. Kuku, who is also an environmental rights activist, oversaw the disarmament and demobilization of 30,000 ex-agitators.
Kingsley Kuku as a politician, was also an elected member of Ondo State House of Assembly, who later became the Chairman of the House Committee for a period of four years.
