Just In: President-General Ohaneze Ndigbo Home Set Ablaze By Unknown Armed Men

The Imo state home of septuagenarian George Obiozor, the President General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, was reportedly burnt down early hours of Saturday by some unknown armed men.


On his Facebook page, One Mazi Nwonwu, who broke the news said,

“The home of Ohanaeze Ndigbo leader, George Obiozor, was burnt down early this morning by armed men. More details coming.”

 

Although the details of the incident are still very sketchy as reported by our source, the yet to be identified armed men, succeeded in causing damages to the home of Chief Obiozor, the Nigerian professor and diplomat, who had been the country’s Ambassador to the United States, and Israel, at different times, and a one-time high commissioner to Cyprus.

 

Chief George Obiozor was also at a time, the Director-General (DG) of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.

 

He was elected as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo on Sunday 9th January, 2021, the position he still holds till date.
