The Kano state government on Monday, according to the state’s Commissioner for Education, Sanusi Kiru, at a press conference held on Monday, has ordered withdrawal of the operational licenses of all private schools in the state.
This is followed by the unthinkable kidnap, and murder of Abubakar Hanifa, a 5 year old pupil of Noble Kids School, in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state, by her teacher and proprietor of the school, 30 years old Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko.
Consequent upon the development, the Kano state government, apart from the withdrawal of private schools licenses, proprietor Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko, was also arraigned before the state’s Magistrate court on Monday, for the alleged offense(s).
Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids School, and the private teacher of little Hanifa, did not only abduct the girl, but also murdered her, using poisonous substance.
According to sources, Tanko used N100 worth ‘rat poison’ to permanently silence the little girl even after demanding and collecting a N6 million ransom from her family.
Proprietor Tanko, who reportedly worked with two (2) other criminal minded persons, said he murdered innocent Hanifa because, she recognized him as her teacher.
However, Tanko ran out of luck when he was nabbed by policemen, while trying to collect the balance of the N6million ransom.
Confirming the incident, the Kano state Police spokesperson, SP. Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, revealed how 5 years old Hanifa Abubakar, was abducted, and later killed by her private teacher.
PPRO Kiyawa also confirmed how Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko “conspired with Hashim Isyaku, 37, and one Fatima Musa, 27,” in the crime that led to the death of the minor; and how she was later “buried in a grave, located at the private school premises at Kwanar ‘Yan Gana, Tudun Murtala” area of Kano state.
Spokesperson Kiyawa again stated that, Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko after confessing to the crime, “led a combined team of DSS operatives, police command’s medical team, and Operation Puff Adder, to the grave, where the little girl was buried.”
SP. Kiyawa later submitted that, Hanifa’s “body was exhumed, and taken to Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialists Hospital, Kano, where it was examined, and later released to the relatives for burial according to Islamic rites;” while also assuring that the suspects would be arraigned in court.
On Monday, January 24, 2022, Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko, was therefore arraigned before Senior Magistrate Muhammad Jibril, for the role(s) he played in the murder of Hanifa Abubakar, the five-year-old pupil of his school.
Among notable Nigerians who have added their voice to the barbaric act of the three suspected kidnappers, and killers of little Hanifa, is Senator Shehu Sani, who said, “Hanifa Abubakar, 5 year old Kano pupil, kidnapped, and killed by her school teacher, after collecting ransom. Such a monster must pay the supreme price for such an unspeakable, and horrible evil.”
The Nigerian First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has also called for the public execution of Abdulmalik Mohammed-Tanko, Hanifa’s proprietor for the abduction and murder of little Abubakar Hanifa.
