Lagos Court Convicts/Cautions 22 Years Old Online Skit Maker, ‘D General’, After Pleading Guilty

The Federal High Court in Lagos, on Monday, convicted Joshua Sunday, a.k.a ‘D General’, an online skit maker, and one Caleb William, a cinematographer, for drug related offenses.

SarahReports had earlier reported how 22 years old Joshua Sunday, admitted ownership of drugs found in his Lekki home by the National Drug Law Enforced Agency, (NDLEA), on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Consequently, the court, presided over by Justice Daniel Osiagor, upheld that, because the volume of drugs found in the Orchid Estate, Lekki home, of the skit maker cum comedian was minimal, he would rather convict the defendants, and caution them, than sentence them.

Although the offense contravenes the provision of Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004, even with the defendants (D’ General and Caleb William) pleading guilty, Justice Osiagor still forgave the offenses, after thorough scrutiny of the evidences before the court.

Both defendants, D’ General and Caleb William, however, said during court interrogation that, they have never tasted drugs before and that the substances found with them were used as props for their comedy skit, which they were in the process of shooting before their arrest.
