Lagos Govt Gifts A 2 Bedroom Apartment + N1M To Family Of Yoruba Rally Victim, Jumoke Oyeleke

Family of the victim of stray bullet at the Lagos Yoruba Nation  rally, Jumoke Oyeleke, has received a gift of 2-bedroom apartment, and a N1 million donation, as ‘compensation’ for the loss of their daughter, Jumoke.

Late Jumoke, a 25 year old, Lagos ‘hustler’, who her mother said was a sales girl at the Oshodi area of the State, met her untimely death at the Ojota area of Lagos, during the ‘Oodua /Yoruba Nation’ rally held in the month July this year.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Administration, Mrs. Titi Oshodi, presented the keys of the Ikorodu furnished home to Jumoke’s mother, as a gesture to show the State government actually cares and feels the pain of the family.

Recall that, a stray bullet, allegedly belonging to the Nigeria Police Force, was reported to have hit Jumoke on July 3, 2021, during the Lagos ‘Yoruba Rally’, which led to her death.

The Lagos State Police Command, however, debunked the widely spread claims of its involvement in Jumoke’s death.

Nevertheless, joy again flowed into the home of late Jumoke with the presentation of the furnished 2-bedroom apartment plus a N1 million donation given to the family by the Lagos State government.

Mrs. Oyeleke, who said she and her other children have been living in shanty because of the inability to afford a decent apartment, was full of thanks to the State government, while also requesting for an employment from the State government as an additional benefit.
