In defense, commercial bus drivers, popularly called danfo drivers in Lagos state, also expressed pains over long hours spent on queues just to get fuel; and the attendant effect on changes in cost of transportation fares.

Few of the commercial bus drivers said, sometimes, even after long hours on queues, they may still not get premium motor spirit (pms) popularly called fuel or petrol.

Some of them said, if they do not get fuel at the filling stations, they settle for the ‘black market’ option which is usually expensive than the normal pump prices at the filling stations.

Many commuters in the state, as well as commercial transporters, again, appealed to the federal government to help the masses before the situation gets out of hand.

However, another report just reaching us is that, long queues in filling stations, within Lagos metropolis, are gradually declining, with hope that, commercial bus drivers, will be compassionate enough, to reduce the costs of transportation fares in the state.
