The Lagos State Government, in a letter signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso has announced restriction of movement across the State on Saturday, July 24, 2021 between the hours of 8a.m and 3p.m.
The restriction, according to the state government, is needed to enable the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) conduct its Chairmanship and Councillorship elections.
The Saturday elections, will help eligible voters choose into positions, their representatives in all the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas and also facilitate the easy movement of the electorate, election materials and LASIEC officials during the process.
For the sanctity of the election, effective monitoring and enhanced security have been put in place in all polling units within the state.
All eligible voters are therefore urged, to participate in the forthcoming Saturday elections, without any fear.
The Lagos state government thereby, calls for the cooperation of all residents within the state.
