Lai Mohammed: “Caveat Emptor. Buyers Beware! Nigerians Beware.”

“Caveat Emptor. Buyers beware! Nigerians Beware.” These are the very words of the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as he tackled the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the Party’s attempt to declare the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) illegal.

PDP, in a suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/389 2022, had enjoined a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, to declare the APC national convention, even before it was conveyed, as unconstitutional and illegal.

PDP also sought an order from the court seeking to deregister the APC as a political party in the country, on the grounds that the ruling party has failed to meet the requirements of Sections 222(a), 223(b) and 225 of the Nigerian constitution.

Minister Lai Mohammed, not sparing PDP, appealed to Nigerians to ignore the ‘ranting’ of the opposition party that is meant to “erase the seven years of unprecedented achievements” of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration; even after the “damage they (PDP) had inflicted on the country in their 16 years of misrule.”

In the barter of words, Lai Mohammed also accused PDP of “kidnapping the fortunes” of Nigeria, and that suddenly, the party (PDP) is now posing as a ’rescuers.’

Minister Mohammed therefore advised Nigerians to “beware” if they do not want to return to ‘Egypt.’
