The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in the United Kingdom, (UK), Dr. Philip Idaewor, has said, until Nigeria shun money bags politics, the country may not get it right in selecting the right people in its leadership positions.
According to Dr. Idaewor, “monetized politics is denying us as Nigerians from getting our best…”
Idaewor emphasized that, until Nigerians take over the will to exercise their political power, oppressive conducts of certain Nigerian leaders will continue to dominate the citizens.
The Doctor therefore, reminded Nigerians that, “democracy is the government of the people, for the people, and by the people.”
The UK based Doctor however, declared his intention to run for the seat of the president in the 2023 elections.
When asked if he will be campaigning from UK, Idaewor said, he has been coming to Nigeria regularly before now, but that Covid 19 has prevented him from traveling often.
He said, now that national boundaries are opening up, he hopes to be in Nigeria ahead of 2023, even after being fully vaccinated.
Dr. Philip Idaewor said this while speaking from Essex in the United Kingdom on Thursday on Arise News TV.
