This may not be the best of times for Nollywood actor Kalu Ikeagwu over different insinuations filed in court concerning his marriage and that have been reported by the media.
In recent development, Ijeoma Ikeagwu, the estranged wife of actor Ikeagwu, told the Ikeja High Court on Wednesday that, her husband habit of smoking cannabis, has become unbearable for her which makes her fear for her safety, and that of her children.
According to Mrs. Ikeagwu, this ‘irresponsible’ lifestyle of her husband of smoking Indian hemp, has also culminated into his refusal to take care of her, and the children.
She explained further that apart from the stated above, her husband, while going on strolls at their Ogba residence with the children, buys and smokes his cannabis before the minors (10 years old step daughter, and 3 years old son) thereby introducing them to drugs and drug joints.
Mrs. Ikeagwu also narrated how her husband, actor Ikeagwu, was once arrested by operatives of SARS and taken to Area F in Ikeja.
She said upon his release, they (her nuclear family) had to hurriedly leave the place where they were living for another accommodation.
Ijeoma further narrated that upon probing her husband on why he was arrested, her merely replied that, the arrest was linked to a stolen phone whose owner died in Abuja.
Ijeoma Ikeagwu made the statements while being led in evidence by her lawyer, S.I. Amedu, in a suit marked ID/8939HD/2021 after her husband Kalu Ikeagwu filed for divorce from his wife while also seeking custody of their children.
Justice Christopher Balogun, the presiding judge over the case, upon the evidences before the court, and further enquiries, adjourned the case to Friday July 8, 2022 for continuation of hearing.
Mr. & Mrs. Ikeagwu, were said to have met at a movie location in Port-Harcourt in 2005, where Ijeoma (the wife) was hired to make up the actors.
After they dated for few months, they eventually wedded in 2016 and the Union has been blessed with two (2) children.
