It seems to be an unending crisis for the already embattled suspended super cop Abba Kyari, as one indictment or the other against him surfaces almost every now and then.
In another development, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), is set to seize Abba Kyari’s real estate, and other properties of his which include: exotic cars, jewelry, expensive wrist watches and other valuables amounting to good sum of money.
According to NDLEA authorities, the Agency is still seeking the approval of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), for the confiscation of Kyari’s properties and other assets of his, following the huge amount of money traced to his bank account, as well as that of his deputy, ACP Sunday Ubua.
It is worth mention that, Kyari, who has been in news for some time now, for his alleged involvement in various criminal activities, which include international money laundering, and dealing in cocaine, of which he is already facing trials, may lose his valuable assets, cash and money in various bank accounts, if the request of the Agency is granted by the Attorney General of the Federation, Malami based on the information presented before the court.
It has since been confirmed that, not less than N1.4 billion was linked to Abba Kyari’s account, who was the commander of the former Intelligence Response Team (IRT), while another N2.8 billion was traced to eight (8) other bank accounts operated by Kyari’s deputy, Sunday Ubua.
Sources confirmed that, it is the believe of NDLEA that, some of the alleged N4.2b, may be proceeds of the sale of some illicit substances, including Tramadol, worth N3 billion, earlier reported to have been seized from a warehouse at Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, but not handed over to the Agency for proper documentations.
