Two drug traffickers, Elvis Iro, 53, and Uwaezuoke Christian, 42, have both excreted 165 wraps of cocaine while in the custody of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
According to NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, Elvis Iro, father of four (4) children, who hails from Abriba, in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia state, was arrested on Saturday, March 19, 2022 on arrival in the country via Ethiopian airline from Addis Ababa.
Iro ingested 65 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.376 kilogramme.
He confessed that a $1,000 awaits him if he had successfully delivered the drug in Abuja; the money he hopes to use to stock his shop, start a new coffee business and take care of his family.
On the part of 42 years old Uwaezuoke Christian, who hails from Ojoto in Idemili South LGA, of Anambra state, 100 pellets of cocaine weighing 2.243kg were excreted.
Uwaezuoke confessed that, a whooping sum of $10,000 was invested to bring in the cocaine; the money he claimed he borrowed from friends, and sold his land to raise the money.
Uwaezuoke travel history to Addis Ababa, with just two days intervals, from Thursday, March 17, to return on Saturday, March 19th; must have raised the red flag. However luck ran out of him when he was nabbed by operatives of the NDLEA.
Different variants of drugs, going to other countries from Nigeria, were also seized by the Directorate of Operation and General Investigation, DOGI.
NDLEA chairman praised his team for a job well done; and charged them to keep up the fight against drugs and traffickers.
