NDLEA Boss, Marwa, Praises Team For Seizure Of 16.85Kg Cocaine, Heroin Worth N4.9B

Chairman/Chief Executive  Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd), has again, commended the Agency’s operatives, especially officers at the Lagos Apapa port command, and that of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA), Lagos, for their relentless efforts in fighting against drug traffickers, following the seizure of 16.85 kilogrammes of cocaine and heroin, with street value of over N4.9 billion.

 

Retired Brig. Gen. Marwa also praised NDLEA operatives in Bayelsa, Rivers, Bauchi, Kogi, Enugu, Gombe, Ogun, and Kwara states respectively, for sustaining the fight against drug cartels, in their various states.

 

In a Statement issued on Sunday by NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, it was revealed that, narcotics weighing different kilogrammes, enroute various states, with some persons allegedly involved, were nabbed at different times last week across the country.

 

Babafemi confirmed that, four (4) persons, are currently being investigated, after the seizure of 13.65kg of cocaine from Santos, Brazil, into the Apapa port on Sunday 7th November; and another 32.9 kilogrammes, also from Santos, Brazil.

 

Spokesperson Babafemi said, individuals in different parts of the country, linked with the offense  and other drug related crimes have been arrested during a well coordinated operation.

 

The Agency’s Chairman, Buba Marwa, again, charged his team of officers, in various commands, to remain vigilant, and steadfast, in their fight against drug trafficking and traffickers, for a better Nigeria.
