NIDCOM Boss, Dabiri-Erewa, Calls for Justice, Arrest of Murderers of 42 Years Old Nigerian Man in South Africa

Following the death of 42 years old Lucky Ndubuisi Chikezie in Pretoria, South Africa, the Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. (Dr) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the incident as very worrisome and painful.

 

In a statement by Mr. Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit of NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the “circumstances of Mr. Lucky’s arrest, detention and eventual death was very unsettling and heartbreaking.”

 

Chairman Dabiri-Erewa, while calling for an in depth investigation into the arrest, detention, assault and the eventual death of Mr. Lucky Ndubuisi Chikezie in the hands of Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Pretoria, South Africa, also commiserated with his family members and friends, and prayed God grant him eternal rest.

 

Dabiri-Erewa, again, advised the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), to conduct an in depth investigation into the death of the 42 years old Nigerians man, and assured justice for the family.

 

However, the report by Mrs. Chikezie, wife of the deceased stated that, her husband, Mr. Chikezie, “suffered untold brutality at the hands of members of the police officers, and later succumbed to injuries he sustained on his head due to internal bleeding in the early hours on Wednesday, June 22, at Akasia Netcare Centre in Pretoria.”
