“I wish to solicit the reciprocity and support of the Governors, and other stakeholders, in picking my successor, who would fly the flag of our party for election into the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023.”
The above was the 10th point put forward by President Muhammadu Buhari while delivering his speech at the meeting held with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors today, being Tuesday, May 31.
President Buhari made the appeal to APC governors ahead of the party’s convention coming soon; after the screening exercise of the party’s presidential aspirants held on Monday, May 30 at a private hotel in Abuja.
The President however, expressed optimism “… that all aspirants and stakeholders would be brought on board right through to the convention… to ensure that any anxiety occasioned by different factors are effectively brought under control.”
