Comrade Agnes Sessi, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC), has said, Nigeria is bereaved of good leadership because the government lacks meaningful ideas on how to move the country forward.
Comrade Sessi, while speaking on “After Fuel Subsidy Suspension, What Next?” on Arise News TV, on Wednesday, argued that, the President Buhari led All Progressives Congress, (APC) administration has failed Nigerians, for reasons that, the government did not deliver on promises made during its election campaigns.
The unapologetic Comrade Sessi therefore advised the President Buhari led government, to tender its resignation, because, in her words, “Nigerians are tired of the leadership that created such a wide gap between the rich and the poor.”
She lamented the high costs of living in the country with the affirmation that, many Nigerian homes cannot afford to have a daily decent meal.
Comrade Sessi said, “our government wants to use hunger and poverty to kill us.”
She again called on the government to be proactive, diligent, truthful, and open, about matters concerning Nigeria, while also demanding for economic solutions to Nigerians’ poverty.
Agnes Sessi emphasized that, there will be no need for palliatives, if the government can provide basic necessities that will be beneficial to all citizens.
On issues concerning fuel subsidy, Sessi believed that everything is shrouded in secrecy, and that some Nigerian leaders made it so, because they are benefiting immensely from it.
