The former Nigerian military president, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, has said, to move Nigeria forward, the country needs a man in his 60’s to be the next president in 2023.
IBB as he is fondly called by Nigerians, said this during an interview session on Arise News TV today Friday, August 6th.
General IBB who will be celebrating his 80th birthday on the 17th of August, 2021 believes that a good Nigerian leader (president) for 2023 should not only be someone in his 60s, but also someone who has friends everywhere that he can communicate with and has travelled across the country.
IBB added that the person must also be versed in economics and good in politics.
The General said he has seen one, two or three of such persons but he didn’t mention the ‘the persons’ by name.
The Minna born ex military officer said such a person(s) could emerge victorious in the 2023 presidential election if Nigerians ‘fish’ the person out.
When asked about corruption in the country under the present administration, the retired top military commander said his government is still a saint compared to what is happening now.
With gratitude to God, Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida said, he’s grateful to God for sparing his life and enjoined Nigerians to go for the person that has what it takes to bring oneness, stability and economic prosperity to Nigeria in 2023.
