One of Nigeria’s foremost security experts, and the Chairman of Transworld Security Systems, Chief Dr. Ona Ekhomu has died. Ona Ekhomu was pronounced dead on Monday in Lagos after a brief illness credited to Covid 19 complications.
Born March 26, 1966, the Irrua indigene from Edo State, was a popular face in the Nigeria’s new media, discussing what he was passionate about, the prevalence of insecurity in Nigeria.
Ona Ekhomu authored many books, out of which are: ‘Boko Haram’, ‘Effective Personal & Corporate Security’ (2009), Kidnap: Face to Face with Death (2014) etc.
Before his death, he was the president and a founding member of the Association of Industrial Security and Safety Operators of Nigeria (AISSON), the Africa Representative of the International Foundation for protection Officers (IFPO), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), the first Chartered Security Professional in West Africa, a Doctorate Degree holder in Philosophy from the University Pittsburgh, among many other honours too numerous to mention.
