NPF Confirms Attack On Bullion Van By Armed Robbers In Delta State

A gang of armed robbers was said to have attacked a bullion van, belonging to an undisclosed bank in  Otor-Owhe on the Asaba-Ughelli dual carriage way, in Isoko North Local Government Area, (LGA) of Delta state.

 

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP. Bright Edafe, said, no amount was stolen during the robbers’ operation; adding that, the bullion van was an empty one.

 

PPRO Edafe, also confirmed that, the armed robbers escaped with bullet injuries, as policemen engaged them in a gun battle.

 

However, while police officer Edafe said no amount was stolen, eyewitnesses said, the robbers actually succeeded in carting away with some money, and that the van was not actually empty as reported by the Delta state police command spokesperson.

 

Nevertheless, calm has since returned to the community, as men of the Delta state police force were on ground, to restore peace and order in the area.
