Consequent upon the peaceful protest staged by traders at the Marchaty lane, in the Bolade-Oshodi area of Lagos State on Wednesday, December 8th, to complain the ongoing illegal construction of iron kiosks on the market public drainages, pioneered by the Oshodi/Isolo local government Chairman, Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof, alias Kendoo, the Lagos State government, under the able Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promptly granted the request of the market traders to forestall any further crisis.
SarahReports had earlier reported how the local government Chairman, Almaroof, commissioned the construction of kiosks on public drainages in the market, after having banned traders from doing business in the restricted area for safety reasons, and for other reasons known to the local authorities.
A follow-up on the story today, being Thursday, December 9th, revealed that, the listening Chairman, Almaroof, has stopped the ongoing illegal project, which could have cost traders within the area a lot of inconveniences.
Some of the traders who spoke to SarahReports, said, the ongoing project has been stopped and the constructed iron kiosks dismantled.
The traders therefore, expressed joy over the development while also assuring the local authorities of their cooperation in other laudable projects initiated by Chairman Kehinde Oloyede Almaroof.
Peace and order have since returned to the market as traders were seen going about their normal business.
