The Deputy Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, FFS, Samson Karebo, has been appointed by President Buhari as the new Acting Controller General of the Service.
Receiving the honour, Samson Karebo thanked the President, as well as, the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for giving him the opportunity to serve as the new head of the FFS.
He praised Ogbeni Aregbesola for his forthrightness in considering him for the position, and for ensuring he emerged as the Acting Controller General.
Samson Karebo promised he will see to it that, officers of the Service, and other firefighters, maintain high standards of discipline in the discharge of their duty; while also promising adequate motivation for them going forward.
In a similar situation, the outgoing Controller General, Dr. Liman Ibrahim, thanked President Buhari for the opportunity to serve, and assured the newly appointed Acting CG, Karebo, of his support, anytime he is called upon.
Dr. Ibrahim added that, the President Buhari’s administration, lifted the Federal Fire Service from ‘a sorry state to a word class standard’, and called on the officers to give their maximum support to the Acting CG for him to succeed.
He afterwards, advised Acting CG Karebo, to finish some of the ongoing projects he left behind for a better FFS.
