Prof. Charles Soludo To Be Sworn In As Anambra Gov. March 17 In A Low Key Event

The low key swearing-in ceremony for the winner of Anambra state governorship election, Professor Charles Soludo holds on Thursday, March 17, 2022, by 9:30 am prompt, at the State Government House, in Awka.

 

In the press statement issued to Journalists by the head of Soludo’s media team, Joe C. Anatune, it was stated that, the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor who is now the Governor elect of Anambra state, “will inspect a guard of honour and consequently make his inaugural address to the people of Anambra State. Thereafter, an inter-denominational service will hold briefly before the new Governor immediately sets out to work.”

 

Soludo is however “grateful to everyone for the outpouring of goodwill messages as well as the continuous support from well-wishers and numerous supporters within and across the globe.”

 

The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force and the state’s Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, have assured residents of the state of the Force readiness to ensure the safety of lives and property during the inauguration.

CP Echeng thereby warned those that are not invited to the inauguration ceremony, to stay off the venue to avoid any embarrassment.

 

Recall that, Prof. Charles Soludo won the governorship election under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) after defeating other candidates.

 

Soludo defeated on November 6, 2021, the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of Young Peoples Party (YPP), Dr. Obiora Okonkwo of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Dr. Godwin Maduka of the Accord Party, and others in a keenly contested election, to emerge the winner of the governorship election.

Out of 21 local government areas of the state, Prof. Soludo was victorious in 19 LGAs with 112,229 votes.
