Sanwo-Olu: I Have No Preferred Candidate For LASU VC Seat

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that, he has no ‘ideal’ candidate for the State’s University Vice-Chancellor’s seat.


Sanwo-Olu said this on Tuesday, while receiving members of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities at the Lagos House, Ikeja.


Gov. Sanwo-Olu, who again submitted that he has no personal interest in who becomes the next Lagos State University’s VC, also said, due process must be followed in choosing the new VC.


He however, assured the team of Vice Chancellors, led by Professor Samuel Gowon Edoumiekumo, of his support in the Committee’s forthcoming 60th anniversary celebration.


The Governor also pledged his administration’s support and commitment to funding all tertiary institutions in the State.


The VC Committee’s leader, Professor Edoumiekumo, however, thanked Gov. Sanwo-Olu for doing a great job in the State, especially during these periods of COVID-19 pandemic; while also commending his efforts in, traffic management, infrastructural development, education, among many others.
