Shina Peller Vs NSCDC: NSCDC Goes Spiritual, Declares A-3-Day Fast/Prayer Over Sponsored Bill

Following the recommendation of Shina Peller, a member of the National Assembly, that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), should be scrapped, officers of the Corps, has decided to seek divine intervention concerning the proposed verdict.

In a memo titled, “RE: REVOKE OF NSCDC ACT, TRANSFER OF ASSETS AND PERSONNEL TO NIGERIA POLICE,” officers of the Corps, believed that, with “prayer and fasting” all “ungodly intention against the Corps” will be countered; and “all the enemies of NSCDC scattered.”

The Corps therefore, proposed a compulsory 3 days fast and prayer, for all the members of the Corps starting Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th of January.

The notice sighted by SarahReports reads in part:

“In view of the purported revocation of the NSCDC ACT, and a contemplated revisit of the merger of the Corps, through a bill sponsored by a legislator, the NSCDC National Chaplain on behalf of the Commandant General, hereby, declares a 3 Day Fasting & Prayers, from Monday 7th to 9th February, 2022, to be observed by All Civil Defenders from the National Headquarters to the Zones, State Commands, and all the Beats.”

“This is to counter the ungodly intention against the Corps as it was in the time of Queen Esther in the Bible ( Esther 3:7- 4:17).”

“Moreover, that our God who helped us quash the first merger attempt, should arise for us and let all the enemies of NSCDC be scattered, in Jesus’ name (Psalm 68:1). Amen.”

Recall that, in the course of the week, lawmaker Shina Peller, had called for the scrapping and merger of NSCDC with the Nigeria Police Force, (NPF), with the argument that, the two paramilitary agencies, have similar functions.

Lawmaker Peller considered it a duplicity of functions, what obtain in the two security agencies.

While it was not clear why Shina Peller made the assertion, some Nigerians are crediting his proposal to the withdrawal of NSCDC operatives attached to him; a decision which was later rescinded.

However, in the bid not to be out of job, officials of NSCDC, have decided to embark on a-3-day fast and prayer, to seek spiritual intervention on the proposed declaration of the lawmaker before it is too late.
