Terrorists Abduct Scores During Ramadan Break, Kill a Cop, Three Others in Niger State

Scores of terrorists on Saturday evening, at about 7:00pm during the Ramadan break of Muslim faithfuls, attacked Kadna village via Gwada community, in the Shiroro Local Government area of Niger state abducting an unspecified number of persons.

 

During the terrorists invasion, a cop was reportedly killed alongside three other persons.

 

According to the spokesperson for the Coalition of Shiroro Association, Salisu Mohammed Sabo, the attack lasted unchallenged for over four (4) hours, and many persons kidnapped among which is a businesswoman whose shop was also looted by the terrorists.

 

Another individual said to be abducted is the son of an official of the North-South Power Company.

 

Spokesman Sabo affirmed that, with the Saturday attack, it means that only Kuta community in the Shiroro local government of the state has not been attacked; adding that, Gwada is very tensed at the moment, “and people are considering moving to Kuta as an alternative.”

 

Confirming the incident, Niger state Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP. Wasiu Abiodun said, although the details of the incident are still sketchy, the Police tactical team and other security agencies, as well as the vigilante, have been mobilized to the area.

 

PPRO Abiodun further stated that he is unaware of any N2m ransom demanded from the families of the abducted persons.
